Happy Chinese New Year!!

This morning we have discussed on a few more things to add on to the project. To make it more interesting and lively. Brainstormed about the interactivity we are going to include on the project.

VISUAL EXPERIMENTATION

Now we are in the visual experimentation stage. I am thinking doing it black and white and using the color YELLOW to enhance the functions of it. OR why not try mixed media? yes got a lot more to do~ !!

Content & Concept

Today we discussed a name for the website. The lines are something which highlights on the city. So we wanted to use the word highlight at the name.

Before creating a website the first thing you have to do is create a flowchart, layout designs and think about the content.

Idea Development

We are now working on Yuan Hooi's out group leader idea. His idea is strong and suits more to the brief. The field guide has to be something which relates to KL City. How does my Keys or bottles relate?? i couldn't get an answer for that.. So we moved on to Yuan Hooi's

The Idea
Yellow Lines.

The bright yellow paint which we see on the road of KL everyday.It is something which people neither neglect nor not pay much attention. But it is the guidelines showing the road rules and signs. for and example the zebra cross, parking areas, bus stops, taxi stands, and arrows marked on the road. Its all YELLOW?? why is it specifically yellow? It is because the color is a very striking color where people can see clearly.

Research !!

I'm now working on my first group project this year. Where w have to create a website on a particular field guide. :-D our group members are, Heidi and Yuan Hooi.. I don't really know them.. I'm getting to know them better and enjoying a lot doing this project. I like Yuan Hooi's sense of humor, he keeps on teasing us, and the the same time he is steady and serious when working. Heidi is a very hard working student, she is very friendly and laughs out for no apparent reason!!... Hmm so lets see how three of us could do !!

Back to the topic.. Our topic is Field Guides.. at first i was like.. WHAT IS A FIELD GUIDE?? ;o
Did a bit of brainstorm from my understanding after the lecture.. A field guide is a range of similar objects, but it has to be different respectively. It has to be something functional. it could be anything!!

My first idea was KEYS.. Why KEYS??
everybody uses a key, each and every key is different and it is used for different purposes, it could be your car keys? you apartment keys? key for your dairy? so apparently keys are something which is very personal and secretive. hehe..



second idea was BOTTLES.. Why BOTTLES? its all around you. You carry them with u where ever you go (Malaysians specially) it is different in their shape, size and also material.. narrowing down => materials could be metal, plastic, glass and lots more.. from the world plastic, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle came into my mind..
